Maintenance of your Secateurs

To ensure efficiency and lengthened life span of secateurs, they should be regularly maintained.

1. To clean use a cloth with warm water and detergent after each pruning job. Especially clean around the lower jaw including the recess. Do not use any abrasives on the PTFE coated blade.
2. The spring and all moving parts must be kept well oiled. A good idea is to oil after cleaning or at least once every 2-3 months. Use a light oil (sewing machine oil or similar).
3. As the blade does most of the work, it is advisable to monitor it. Sharpen the blade once secateurs become hard to use.  Keeping the edge sharp is important for its life and efficiency of your work.
